Keep track of SaaS competitor pricing and product changes

Use Beeuni to check competitor websites, compare pricing terms, and turn product changes into a brief your small SaaS team can act on.

A customer asks how your plan compares with a competitor’s. You open the comparison sheet and find a price copied several months ago. The competitor now has different plan names, and the feature you remember as an add-on appears on the main pricing page. Answering the customer means doing the research again.

A Beeuni agent can visit those pages, check the terms, and update the comparison. It can use the browser to follow pricing controls and documentation links, then work with the findings in a file or connected spreadsheet. Give it a defined set of products and questions so the result stays relevant to your customers.

Choose the comparison your team actually needs

Start with products that appear in your sales conversations. A tool for a large enterprise may have many features your customers will never use. Comparing every checkbox can obscure the buying decision you are trying to understand.

For example, a small team selling client-approval software might care about guest access, active projects, approval history, and the minimum paid team size. Define a representative customer before checking prices. A five-person agency with external reviewers needs a different comparison from a solo consultant.

Give Beeuni the competitor URLs, the customer profile, and your current comparison if you have one. Include your own published plan terms. The agent then has a reason to distinguish a meaningful difference from an unrelated announcement.

Read the price together with its conditions

Have the agent open the pricing page and inspect the billing controls. Record the currency, region, billing period, charging unit, and minimum purchase. A monthly equivalent displayed under an annual toggle is not the amount someone can necessarily pay for one month.

FieldWhat to record
Base priceListed amount, currency, and monthly or annual commitment
Charging unitPer member, account, project, or unit of usage
Included useActive projects, storage, credits, or other allowances
Additional chargesExtra seats, usage, add-ons, and minimum purchase
Relevant featureWhich plan includes it and any documented limits
EvidenceSource URL, page section, and time checked

For the agency example, calculate the listed cost for the same five paid members and the same billing period. Check whether external reviewers count as paid members. Keep the calculation beside the source terms so someone can correct an assumption without repeating the entire visit.

Some prices depend on usage or a sales quote. Leave those amounts unknown when the public information is insufficient. If you estimate a scenario from published rates, show the assumed usage and calculation. Do not compare that estimate with another product’s base price as though both cover the same work.

Establish a baseline before reporting a change

On the first check, save the relevant page text and a screenshot where layout or a pricing control affects the meaning. Use the page URL and check time as part of the record. This creates an observation you can compare with the next visit. It does not establish when the vendor last changed its offer.

On a later check, have Beeuni compare the same plan, billing mode, and region. A page redesign can move the text without changing the terms. A promotion can replace the displayed amount temporarily. A personalized or regional page may differ from the version saved last time.

Check a suspected change against the surrounding terms and linked documentation. If a feature disappears from the pricing grid, describe it as no longer listed there until another source confirms its removal. A missing checkbox is weak evidence that the product stopped supporting it.

Separate an announcement from something customers can use

Read the changelog and feature documentation alongside the pricing page. An announcement might describe a preview, a waitlist, or a feature limited to one plan. Record that status. The release date and the date you observed it are different facts.

For client approvals, a new guest-review feature could affect your sales answer. It may still lack approval history, require a paid guest seat, or apply only to image files. Have the agent follow the documentation far enough to answer the original customer question. It does not need to collect every unrelated release.

When a page needs an authorized login, arrange access for that site before asking the agent to inspect it. A connected application account does not automatically sign the browser into the same service. If verification or an access restriction stops the check, include that gap in the report rather than infer what is behind the page.

End with the decision, then the supporting detail

Imagine a later visit confirms that a competitor moved approval history into its entry plan. A useful brief names the old observation, the current terms, and the sources. It then identifies the consequence: your comparison page needs a correction, and sales should stop describing that feature as exclusive to your paid tier.

That finding does not automatically justify matching the competitor’s plan. Your customers may value a different part of the product. Connect the finding to existing customer questions or grouped feedback before proposing a product change.

Check the competitor pages in our comparison sheet.
Use the five-member agency scenario and monthly billing.
Compare against the saved observations and list material changes first.
For each change, include the previous terms, current terms, source, and check time.
Keep unverified fields marked unknown.
Draft corrections to our comparison notes without publishing them.

For the next check, keep the source list and comparison rules with the saved observations. Ask Beeuni to run the same check again when needed. If nothing material changed, a short result with the pages checked is enough.
